Granite Ghost Town & Ringing Rocks

Join your guide Thomas Baurley for a 2-3 day camping trip with day adventures around Phillipsburg, Montana – exploring the Granite Ghost Town and Mines; and a day trek to the Bureau of Land Management’s Monumental Site: Ringing Rocks.

Where:

Rustic tent camping at a local state or USFS campground near Phillipsburg, Montana (based on availability). Travel into and through Phillipsburg and Anaconda, Montana. A day trek into Granite Ghost Town State Park. Another Day trek to Ringing Rocks Monument.

When:

The Tour is available on select dates in June, July, August, or September 2021 – Depending on Pandemic and road/park opening and/or closures.

What:

A campout and guided hike by Archaeologist and Folklorist Thomas Baurley. Day 1 will be setting up camp, ghost stories around a campfire while roasting marshmallows, and a night of rest. Day 2: Trekking into Granite Ghost Town State Park to explore the old mining town, mines, and locale. Late lunch through Phillipsburg, Montana – the current living town. Back to Camp for another night under the stars. Day 3: Travel up to Ringing Rocks to bang on the rocks and create natural music with this geological wonder. History and lore of the area. The package includes a personal guide, transportation around to the sites, water and granola/dried fruit snacks, marshmallows, cocoa, and fellowship. Two breakfasts, Two dinners come with the package. You are responsible for your own snacks.

Cost:

$800.00 a person. Tour requires a minimum of 2 booked attendees. Scheduling and Availability affected by 2020/2021 Pandemic, Road and/or Park openings/closures.

Attendance:

This tour is capped at 5-6 attendees due to the 2020-2022 Pandemic. All attendees must be healthy and clear of Covid-19. Masks must be worn when indoors and/or within vehicles while with others and social distancing of at least 6′ from non-household members during tour and campout.
